visualized sound recording of the “little poem for big stutterers” written by Kurt Schwitters ( 1934), spoken by Ernst Jandl 1984
The exhibition Luigi Zuccheri e Compagni, ANIMALI shows paintings by Luigi Zuccheri (1904-1974) depicting animals. Accompanying these paintings are works by 60 artists in the exhibition. My contribution are the speech threads based on the sound waves of the poem Kleines Gedicht für grosse Stotterer, written by Kurt Schwitters in 1934, read by Ernst Jandl at the Frankfurt Poetry Lectures in 1984 and translated into speech threads by me in 2012. Ernst Jandl’s voice can be heard again and again in the exhibition. The speech threads (sound waves) show both the rhythm of the poem and the way in which it was recited. In terms of content, the poem speaks of the beauty of a fish skeleton.
